Rainy-day delivery bags and equipment in Japan
On rainy days, slow down and keep both yourself and the order dry.
Check your delivery bag, rainwear, phone mount and vehicle before leaving. Stop if the weather or road feels unsafe.
1. Use a stable, water-resistant delivery bag
Choose a bag that keeps its shape, closes securely and can be fixed firmly to you or the vehicle. Carry a rain cover and towel. Use dividers to keep hot and cold items apart, and do not overload the bag.
2. Wear rain gear that keeps your view clear
Use rainwear that does not block your vision, non-slip gloves and waterproof shoe covers. Choose visible colours, working lights and reflective items. Do not hold an umbrella or operate a phone while riding.
3. Check the vehicle and phone before work
Check the brakes, tyres, lights, bag straps and phone mount. Keep the phone and power bank in a waterproof pouch. Test a short familiar route first, and stop when the road is too slippery or visibility is poor.
